A few weeks ago, I shut my laptop, put down my pen, and did the most important work of writing. Living.
I ran off to Great Britain and hiked through blustery North Wales, waded through the bogs in Isle of Skye, and zoomed around the Underground in London. I’d had my nose in a book (the book, I should say) for so long, I’d forgotten that the only way to get new ideas is to go out hunting for them.
So in a tribute to that most often-asked question, “Where do you get your ideas?” I’m starting a new segment on my blog called Half Remembered Dreams. Cause the world is where I get my ideas from.
Here’s a few of the new ideas I found on my trip…

Where do you get yours?

Lovely pictures – lots of magic in the places you visited. Well, maybe not in the Underground bur certainly in the countryside. Now you must go to NZ – your brain will be on fire with ideas.
Telling you just because I’m thrilled – two of my poems are to be published in a local literary magazine in December. I’ve had haiku published before but these are somewhat of a departure and it’s so encouraging to find that someone (outside the family!) likes them.
Love the countdown to your book.
It looks beautiful. I’ve always wanted to visit the rest of the UK, since I’ve only visited England so far.
Isle of Skye! Be still my beating heart. Can’t wait to hear more about your trip and where you get your ideas. :)
